What we collect, what we deliberately don't, and how we use the information involved in running 1Privacy AI.

Last updated: 2026-06-04

This policy explains what we collect, what we deliberately don't, and how we use the information involved in running 1Privacy AI. It applies to 1Privacy AI — including chat, wallet and billing, push notifications, and related features — at chat.1privacy.ai and 1privacy.ai.

What we collect

  • Email address — for sign-in (magic link by default; password optional).
  • Subscription and wallet state — your plan and credit balance, so we can bill correctly and show you what you have.
  • Saved chats — conversations from normal chat mode, which you can delete at any time.
  • Support correspondence — kept until your issue is resolved.

What we don't collect

We deliberately avoid third-party analytics, device fingerprinting, selling your data, building marketing or advertising profiles, and training AI models on your conversations.

Ghost Chats

When you turn on Ghost Chats for a conversation, the messages aren't stored under your account and their contents aren't retained. Credits are still spent to generate the replies, but there's no saved record of the conversation afterward.

AI model providers

1Privacy AI works by sending your message to the AI model you choose and returning its reply. We don't run these models ourselves — they are operated by third-party AI providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, together with the other model providers listed in the app's model menu. We reach them through a model-routing service that connects to these providers' commercial APIs.

What we send. To answer you, we send the content of your prompt — and the earlier messages in that conversation the model needs for context — to the provider that runs the model you selected. We route every request through our own servers, which strip your account, email, and session identifiers. Because the request is made by our servers and not by your device, the provider never receives your IP address or device information — only the text needed to answer your question, with nothing that identifies you as the person asking.

What they may not do with it. We use these providers through their commercial APIs, not their consumer apps. Under those API terms, your prompts and the replies are not used to train their models, and are retained only as long as needed to process the request — and, in some cases, briefly for abuse prevention — before deletion. We only route requests to providers that commit to privacy protections at least equivalent to those described in this policy.

We don't keep them either. We don't log the content of your conversations for our own purposes, and we never sell or share them for advertising. If you use a Ghost Chat, the conversation isn't saved at all. Normal chats are stored only so you can return to them, and you can delete any chat — or your whole account — at any time.

Your choice. Before you start a chat, the app shows a notice that your messages are sent to these third-party AI providers to generate replies, with a link to this policy. By sending a message, you agree to that processing. You can stop at any time by not sending messages, deleting your chats, or deleting your account.

Push notifications

If you enable them, alerts may include up to 120 characters of a reply preview. They never contain your credentials, payment details, or chat history. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.

Payments and billing

Subscriptions and credit top-ups are processed by Stripe, our payment processor, on 1privacy.ai. Stripe handles your card details directly under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS security standards — we never receive your full card number, only the card brand and last four digits, which we store to show you which card is on file. We keep transaction records as required by tax and accounting law. Stripe is contractually required to protect your information and to use it only to process payments for us.

Service providers we rely on

We use a small number of trusted providers to run 1Privacy AI, and we share only the data each one needs to do its job:

  • AI model providers — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and the others in the model menu — to generate replies (see "AI model providers" above).
  • Stripe — to process subscription and top-up payments.
  • Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications you've enabled (preview text only; see "Push notifications").
  • Our email and hosting providers — to send your sign-in links and to run the service.

We require each of these providers to protect your data and to use it only to provide their service to us — never for their own purposes, and never to build advertising profiles.

Your rights

You can view and export your data, delete individual chats, delete your account entirely, and opt out of non-essential emails. Use the in-app controls, or contact us at the address below, to exercise any of these.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encryption at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit what we hold and to protect what we do.

Children

1Privacy AI isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and post the updated version. Minor corrections (typos, link fixes, clarifying language) are updated in place.
